Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Trio Review

As Keith Lee would say, “I got it, let’s try, and let’s rate it 1 through 10!” I snagged the Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Trio yesterday that launched for Holiday 2024! This set includes Brazil Nut Body Oil, Brazil Nut Body Butter, and Brazil Nut Body Mist. Considering Trader Joe’s didn’t bring back Brazil Nut Body Oil this past Summer this set may be a very appealing pick for the lovers of the body oil! But also, the Body Mist makes it tempting as well as who doesn’t want to smell like the yummy mix of salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla (aka their dupe of Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa ’62 Perfume Mist!

The set was available for Holiday 2023 but was impossible to find or at least it was for me. It sold out pretty fast but this year they seem to have a good deal more of them and it was a little easier to locate. I got two one for myself and one for my sis as I think it’ll disappear pretty fast. Especially this week as everyone is shopping for Thanksgiving. Trader Joe did a Brazil Nut Body Glow Gift Set for Holiday which includes the Brazil Nut Body Wash (4 oz) the Brazil Nut Body Mist (3.4 oz), the Brazil Nut Body Scrub (.3 oz), and the Brazil Nut Body Butter (2.02 oz). That set was $9.99 and I sort of wish they brought it back as it had a nicer variety of items plus it was cheaper! This set is $12.99 and it includes Brazil Nut Body Butter (.3 oz), Brazil Nut Body Mist (6 oz), and Brazil Nut Body Oil (2 oz).

Let’s take a look at the set below.

Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Trio Review

This is a cute set but it is a little expensive for what you get or at least expensive by Trader Joe’s standards as hey, $13 isn’t bad for all three items but considering size and what TJ has given us in the past it’s a little more expensive!

Everyone compares Brazil Nut to Sol de Janeiro’s popular Cheirosa ’62 sinc ethey contain the same notes but I think it does miss some of the warmth the original scent has. Trader Joe’s scent seems a little fainter and lacks the complexity, warmth, and strength of Cheirosa ’62. Don’t get me wrong, it smells a lot like it but with a something is missing which I can’t out my finger on. I think MCO Beauty Number 2 does a better job duping the scent than Trader Joe’s does. But it’s still a really nice variation of ’62.

Let’s get into the contents! The Brazil Nut Body Butter is thick, rich, and creamy with a linger scent. I love it’s in a travel tin and I can easily take it with me on a plane. Plus the tin is refillable if you want! It is pretty small though at .3 oz. The Brazil Nut Body Oil is likely the star of the show for a lot of people since it didn’t make a reappearance this Summer! The original bottle was 4 oz for $6.99 and this kit comes with a 2 oz bottle. I actually didn’t like the Body Oil when it originally launched as I felt like it lacked fragrance. It wasn’t as strong as the butter, scrub, and wash. I did go into a purchase of this set fully knowing I didn’t like and had planned to just give it to my sister as I really wanted the other items. But maybe I got a crap bottle or two when it originally launched as this is MUCH, much better! Lots of fragrance in this one and I thought the oil was richer and more moisturizing than the original.

The Brazil Nut Body Mist is a bit disappointing but keep in mind Trader Joe’s never actually said it’s a fragrance mist. This is actually very moisturizing however, it lacks fragrance. The scent is very, very, very, very faint. I got the original Body Glow Gift Set and as I recall the mist was much better scented. I wish I had more of it to compare the two. I think the body mist is nice to add light moisture but don’t expect a fragrance mist as it won’t work like that.

All in all, the Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Trio is cute but I think they downgraded a little this year. It’s still worth grabbing if you love this fragrance!
