The Sephora Holiday Savings Event 2024 starts very soon and of course, there are plenty of new makeup, beauty, and fragrance launches to take advantage of. I think this year will be super unpredictable as to what will sell out and what will remain in stock. I mean, did anyone really think the Tower 28 Lil’ Softies Lip Treatment Set would disappear that fast? Thankfully, Tower 28 still has it in stock but it’s been gone from Sephora for a bit now. If I had to call it I’d have told you the Summer FridaysThe Mini Neutrals Lip Butter Balm Set would have sold out but nope, Tower 28 was the one to go first. So yeah, things are oddly unpredictable this year. I’m pretty tempted to get the new Fenty Skin Toasted Marshmallow Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream and Lil Butta Dropz Mini Whipped Oil Body Cream Trio. But remember last year and how the trio stuck around FOREVER on sale? But some part of me is like the caramel and marshmallow are going to be really popular and will probably sale out. So, I’m torn do I get it now or wait for a good sale? Ugh!
That being said I do know a few beauty picks I’ll be saying no thanks to! Here’s what’s on my makeup and beauty no buy list.
I happen to be a huge Wicked fan. I’ve seen the play more times than I care to share. But the Wicked beauty launches, well, I’m not too into them especially the R.E.M. Beauty X Wicked Collection. But why does the palette look like an Essence one? I’m so sad! This could have been amazing release but I’m not feeling it. Money saved I guess!
I hate to say this because I buy this almost every year and it’s SO pretty this year but I think I’m going to skip the Charlotte’s Beauty Treasure Chest Of Love Advent Calendar. I have almost everything in it so, really do I need to bother? I think not.
As much as I love the Pat Mcgrath Holiday launches I can see myself easily skipping the Luminous Legends: Mega Eye Shadow Palette. Even if this one goes on sale I dunno if I need it as it feels like a rerun of the Holiday Palettes I already own!
I like a good moisturizing foundation but Patrick Ta’s new Major Skin Hydra-Luxe Luminous Skin Perfecting Foundation For Natural Glow just isn’t it for me. Does anyone simply hate glowy foundations? I feel like they put a spotlight on my face. Nope, not for me.
I think this is self explanatory but I’m just saying no to Sephora Advent Calendar anything. They are a complete waste of money and the addition of stuff like hair hands and nail stickers just isn’t the way. Nope, I’m good.
Call me cheap or call me crazy but I won’t drop $75 on a 1.7 oz bottle of Glossier You Rêve Eau de Parfum. I don’t understand the hype over the original to be honest. It’s a nice fragrance but not sure it warrants to OMG you need it reviews. And $75 bucks? I’d rather put that towards a niche or luxury fragrance. This should be $45-$50 at most. Am I curious to smell it? Yes. But do I think I’ll love it and buy it? Doubt it.
Don’t quote me to this ok? But I might skip the Hourglass Holiday 2024 Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palettes this year. I’ve been waffling with these as they went on sale here and there the last few weeks and I put them in my cart only to take them out. I think the shades feel a lot like what I already own. But again, don’t hold me too this one because I may cave.
What’s on your no buy beauty list at the moment? Do share!
